Gear me and I’ll be Your BFF

Today I came across this post in the Whisperwind sub-section of the forums:

“I’ve been trying to do Arenas to get some wins in 2v2, but even after more than 20 losses needed to get down to 400 rating to scrape a measly win, I still can’t win because apparently there are still 700k hp DK carries even down that low of a rating bracket. Does anyone here want to help me get conquest points? I really don’t have that much money to pay, but if you’re in a PvP guild and you’re all pvp-geared, it shouldn’t be that hard right?

If you help me get conquest points for better PvP gear, I can do serious, competitive 3v3 or 5v5 or RBG’s with you or your guild. I’m very competitively-focused. Sadly, gear has never been my strong point.”

20 losses and still no win?  Gear has never been a strong point?  Wait, what? Gear is so easy to get! Pvp especially.  So let’s dawdle over to this armory shall we?

7 pieces of green gear, 1 blue, 4 grievous pieces, misc epic pve pieces. 8 missing enchants (that means none), 6 empty sockets (that means none), no belt buckle, no reforging. No professions, no HK’s.

This sounded familiar but I can’t quite place it yet.  I was in a guild at some point where someone said a similar line.  Especially the end part.  Translation: Do a lot of work gearing me up, THEN I can be a good guildie and help you guys out.

How about you get yourself as prepared as you can, proving you are willing to help out? Man, that’s going to bug me now.

And although we won, it would have been fun regardless.  We took their keep, we took theirs, they had all the GYs, we had all the GYs, they broke glaives, etc etc, had an awesome time.

Ganging Up

I was out in Westfall since someone kept attacking the quest givers at Saldean’s Farm, and got this salty  bit of stuff from the warrior I walloped.

I explained I was only 537 ilevel.  So gear didn’t have much to do with my win.

Later I moved over to Moonbrook and killed a warlock.

They paired up with the warrior, who I killed, but once both were at full health, I had to look around at my options.  I was at Moonbrook so no worries, when the warrior dropped out of the sky I threw some DoTs on them and kited back to the Flightmaster.  Yeah, they spawn enraged gryphons nicely.   Try to gang up on me, will you?

This is also another good reason why I like wpvp.  You can be at odds in numbers, gear, or against an impossible class (I’m looking at you, WW monks!) and look around and use some other way to win.  Pull guards, stand on something tall, push people off things, knock them off a mount, duck into another phasing zone, and so on and so forth.

This Guild Cracks me Up

I thought the guild message of “everyone has to give him a present was a joke”.

I guess not.

In less fun news, I am losing most of my random solo queue bgs (big surprise) and premades want 550 gear.  I’m about half prideful.  I’d love to get  my druid back Alliance though.

The Bestest World Event of ALL TIME

MIDSUMMER!

Oh, so many horde to mow down it’s insane!  I was camping the one outside of Ironforge, and killed a monk.  Then a mage and paladin came down, killed the mage.  By then some other alliance jumped in and we killed the paladin.  Wee!  Then went into IF and blasted a whole bunch more, it was FANTASTIC.

It really took the sting out of going 0/3 in battlegrounds just prior to that <.<
