They fixed the dupes! Finally! I’ve opened about 5 boxes so far and not a single dupe.  I’m so happy about that.  There was no reason for that when there were so many items yet to earn.

D.va’s cards are really odd, by the way.  I got a card for 6 mechs called, that makes sense.  But 3 mech deaths by enemy? What does that even mean?  Did I kill 3 enemies when calling the mech, or what?

Also, the game is curious how it pairs people together.  Several nights ago I played with someone with the tag Gummybear and they were quite good, so I was joking I was singing the “barbie doll” song but replacing the main phrase with “gummy bear”.

Well I ran into them again the other night, along with someone named Vondyk (who I should have friend requested too) and they friend invited me.  We played a bit that night and had a good time.

I had been lamenting my lack of Overwatch friends, but between Gummybear and Lunacy, I’ve had more partners again. People have been speaking in voice chat and I join in, and so far, no idiots or ragers, just nice people.

I haven’t been playing a lot of World of Warcraft.  Both guilds I’m in,  on Whisperwind and Sargeras, are basically dead.  That’s ok but there’s no groups to do anything with.  Even if I didn’t leave SPM, I have no more interest in playing in a big premade.  I wouldn’t mind raiding again but probably not until winter.  It’s hard to sit down and play on the computer without taking a break when it’s still sunny out.

That being said, been playing a lot of Overwatch.  I cannot wait until they do something ABOUT THE DUPES.   There’s 3-4 dupes EVERY GOD DAMN BOX.  I only have about 50% of all skins, not sure about sprays or all the other items, but getting 50%-100% duplicates is absurd.

There is also a problem with highlights were they either don’t save at all (I had a PotG not even save!)

or they glitch out so you can’t even watch them. Heck PotG doesn’t even make sense sometimes.  I got a quad kill on an ultimate on Pharah, and it went to someone slowly headshotting 2 people.  Go figure.

I love when we get ragers who quit the match, and then we go on to win.  I guess we know who was the problem right?  In the case of this guy, he rage-quit, and then we won.  I’ve seen it happen more than a few times.

I also phased into a losing match where at least 2 other people had quit, and grabbed D.va just to get on point quick.  Not only did we win, but I won, HARD.

I wonder how good the ragers really think they are.

After the Mei winter skin thing, we are getting a Chinese New Year event where we got a number of fantastic skins.  Mei finally got something new, Winston, Zen, Sym, and so on.  People were talking about who didn’t get something or who still has bad skins overall (Zarya cough cough).

The skins tend to fall in categories of base recolors (same outfit, different colors),  completely new outfits (legendaries), and base but with cool stuff (summer skins, Mei’s xmas one).  Every time a group of heroes gets a new thing, some others feel left out.  I’m counting based on the unique look of the items, and grouping the counts into these categories.

For instance, here’s a run down as I see it at this time.

Ana:   Base, Amari, Wagjet.  Most of her skins are variations of the base skins, and her Captain Amari.  At this point I’d say she has 3

Bastion: Base skin, Gearbot, Steambot.  He barely has 3 as they all look pretty much the same.  Some of the details are really nice though.

D.va:  Base, Junebug, Scavenger, Palanquin.  4, but barely.

Genji: Base, young Genji, Nomad.  3.5 with the .5 going to Oni.

Hanzo: Base, Wolf, Young.  Halloween skin is a decent base update. 3.5

Junkrat:  Base, Jester, Scarecrow, Junkenstein.  4.

Lucio:  Base, Hockey, Summer, Frog, 4.

Mccree:  Base, Gambler, Mystery man.  3.

Mei:  Base, Yeti, Firefighter, Luna.  4.5 with the .5 going to the winter skin (because, sigh, ice block change)

Mercy:  Base, Valkyrie, Imp, Witch.  4.  I do love all her skins though, ALL OF THEM!

Pharah:  Base, Thunderbird, Winter, Mechaqueen, Security Chief.  5.

Reaper: Base, Reyes, Halloween, Nevermore, El Blanco.  5.5 with the .5 going to his winter skin.

Reinhardt: Base, Blackhardt, Balderich, Helmetless, Wujing. 5.  Almost counts as a 6 in my book because his heavy armor IS SO AMAZING!

Roadhog: Base, Winter, Toa, Mako, Halloween, Bajie.  6!

S76:  Base, Young, Night Ops, Daredevil.  4, but I don’t like half of them.

Sombra:  Base, legendary, Los Muertos.  3 but she is the newest character.

Symmetra:  Base, Architech, Goddess. 3.5 with the .5 going to her halloween skin which changes her turrets to little eyeballs.

Torbjorn:  Base, Deadlock, Santaclad, Blackbeard.  4.

Tracer:  Base, T.Racer, Slipstream, Summer, Punk, Winter. 6.

Widowmaker: Base, Odile, Halloween, Noire.  4.

Winston:  Base, Frogston, Explorer, Yeti, Wokong.  5.

Zarya:  Base, Arctic, Cybergoth, Summer. 4 but no one seems to like the Goth so it feels more like 3.

Zenyatta:  Base, Djinnyatta, Winter, Sunyatta, Sanzang. 5.

I think Widowmaker (curse her soul), is due for another good one, Symmetra, Ana, and Zarya. Zarya before anyone.

For some reason tonight, Overwatch decided to give me the same opponent over, and over, and over.  Specifically, this person named Gaben, who was wrecking my face all over as Pharah, and Zarya, and Reaper.  We played against each other at least 10 times in a row.  I was seriously sick of seeing them, honestly.  I mean what are the chances that there are like, no other people to play with?

But as it so happens, even if I’m pounding my desk bitching about what a dirty whorebag that other player is, I bite my tongue and admit (grudgingly sometimes I confess) that they were really good.  Like, god damn it good.

Then in the above picture, I had done a 3 person rez to clutch the game to a win, by rezzing on the payload, right on the delivery point.  Instead it went to a Roadhog who killed those 3 people before I rezzed them.   You see me rez in the game so I did my usual joke of “I was in a …. PLAY OF THE GAME!!”  They complimented me, I complimented back.  Then at the end of the night, they friend requested me.  We were never on the same team all night, just played against them.  It should be interesting if I’m able to get them into a group another night.
