OMG LFR IS SERIOUS

So tried the LFR new raids, we got it down with a little trouble. I find it amusing that this junk JUST CAME OUT and people were already yelling fail tanks,  you idiots, etc etc.  IT JUST CAME OUT.  We’re not all Paragon or something who heroics raids on the PTR, or whatever! Geez.

Hm.  So I’ve been testing out shadow as an offspec since there are many complaints about healing priests, disc in particular. I won’t drop disc, but I want and need options for questing.  And MY GOSH questing is so much easier as shadow! That might sound like a no brainer, but it was reasonably easy to do until I hit 88.

Anyway the other day I was in TB with 4 other alliance, 2 of which were with me at ICG.  Holystab shows up and draws out a druid and I follow to help out.  He runs in ICG and starts msging me with

“Are you stupid
dumb ass stop attacking me
thats it your dead”

Well, hi?  It’s um, pvp, and I kill the opposite faction.

So I replied that was how I show love and what did he expect, a make out session?

“well you know me and my pvp friends we like to kill some alli  wanna be the first to die?”

At that point I said sure bring it, I mean boring TB is boring. I want some action.  Told him he was cute when he cries and come back and I’ll brush his hair (joke about blood elf hair).

“ROFL you kids don’t even know how to pvp you just run in numbers and get at me when you cant win 1v1”

Again, hi? You came solo to an unmatched fight.

“its sad how you think your good hiding in numbers, sorry hunny i’d rape you in 2 shots without your back up”

I told him I never said I was any good.  I just picked up shadow the other day.  Then I said I would be 4 shots at least.

“nope I have a 1 shot macro but i’d be a waste on you”

I asked, what if I beg, really hard?

“just a waste of my time to even touch you lul”

Told him he knows he wants to come try.

“you wish”

Then I said I appreciated him making the battle less boring.  This was after he showed up at WV with a holy priest and we rolled them both.

“ROFL SO BAD LUL god i’m laughing so hard at how ad you alli are, ha ha an 86 healer beat your dps, LOL”

There was more, but yeah.  Done talking to that guy, that was beyond rude.

Usually I ask in guild if anyone wants to run heroics with me, but lately I find myself queuing solo just because it seems easier, as foolish as that sounds. Today for example I said I was running some heroics if anyone wants to go and I got “5 of us are in one now”.

Yes, I’m not an idiot, I looked at the roster already, I meant it for people NOT in a dungeon.

Then there is the usual bit of someone joining but “I need a few to finish this quest” or something. Yeah no, I wanted to queue RIGHT NOW, I didn’t say “willing to wait on anyone doing whatever then going”. Yeah, feeling extra bitchy today.

A lot of times I get no response though, which just seems odd. Mind you I don’t flat out say “hurry the fuck up” or anything. I’d jump on a healer queue in a second on my mage. 30 min queues, grumble.

On other news, disc and holy priests are considered to be rather bad right now. Our throughput is anywhere from half of other healers to 10% less (variables like gear and encounter), our control of mana is quite poor and we have no smart heals as disc (no divine hymn, tranq) and our only AOE heal, prayer of healing, isn’t putting out very strong DA bubbles. 8k on a 400k HP pool is nothing. It also seems to make almost no noticeable change on a parties health when you cast it, and at something like 9% of total mp per cast, it’s bad to use right now. IMO.

In pvp we are really bad too. Most of our claws have been pulled out, no more mana burn, or made highly situational at best. Mind control for example was spammable but had something like a 2 second cast, and diminishing returns (DR). Now it’s a talent, meaning you have to give up Psyfiend and Void Tendrils, and it’s on a freaking 30 second CD. It’s not limited to just humanoids any more but gosh. I’m not seeing where that is useful.

We lost SW Death as a “can use whenever” skill and the baseline version requires the target be under 20% health. My lovely lovely glyph that allowed you to double SW death a low health target is totally gone. I can’t even tell you how many 2’s I won for us getting a KB on someone using that. If you want the old version of SW death back to counter a mages polymorph, you have to glyph it so one prime glyph spot gone to make it what it use to be.

You have to use another major glyph to take the interrupt protection with Inner Focus. I can’t exactly remember but I think that use to be built into another talent, it was always a talent choice but it came with some other options also.

And for pvp you HAVE TO HAVE glyph of desperation to cast Pain supp while stunned, so right there you are done. I use to take SW death, mending (60% more healing on first jump) and desp but now we have a lot less wiggle room.

Then you have mages who can spell steal every damn shield you put up.

Anyway, rdruids are the best for pve and pvp right now, and it looks like every last arena team is rdruid+warrior+ something. Or rdruid+warlock+ something. My only consolation is, rdruid vs rdruid, has to be ANNOYING XD.

HEALS SUCK OMG

Sometimes I wonder why you don’t see many pvp healers, but I guess if I used half a brain and thought about it, it would be pretty clear. There is the obvious like we get focused first, usually, and rarely does anyone “protect” or peel off you. In random battlegrounds this doesn’t bother me TOO terribly because I take it as a challenge to try to survive anyway. In persistent battlegrounds like WG/TB, it’s annoying because everyone should pay attention to their healers.

The additional insult is from random players who complain about not getting heals without paying attention to WHY they didn’t get heals. Was I the only healer? I can’t heal everyone across the entire map. Was I getting my ass pounded into the ground? Yeah I can’t really heal anyone else when I’m trying to not die. Was our dps not killing a fing thing? Yeah, these questions need to be answered.

Was in a random BG and in Twin Peaks. The other team had a prot warrior flag carrier with 4 healers. We had someone call out to focus the prot warrior and I said something about the feasibility of taking down a warrior with 4 heals.

This of course opened a whole can of worms discussing what an idiot I was, how I must never RBG, I’d never be accepted to his RBG team, blah blah terrible heals whatever. I was their only heals. The best comment however was:

“Nice mana heals, only 100k lawl”.

Then in Tol Barad the other day, a DK by the name of Deathbybean (think it’s that Meanbean guy) was yelling at everyone for not getting vehicles. The problem was, no one, NO ONE had even one HK so we couldn’t. It was that bad. Alliance had like 3 mages at every base with a healer. It was pathetic.

For no particular reason he started insulting me, saying I probably was a bad pvp healer, probably had no pvp gear, etc etc. I said I was fully pvp geared and well experienced in pvp, but I didn’t see how me healing was going to help dps who can’t kill crap for anything. Yes, it will keep you from dying but it’s not going to help you kill the enemy. AMIRIGHT?

It’s like when that horrible hunter named Kiya tried to kill my horde priest in WG, I kick her ever loving ass. But she gets a healer on her, she still can’t kill me but now she’s wasting all of our time getting heals.

We went back and forth arguing about this up until we lost the battle (predictable, the only HK I got was when I killed a mage myself) and I must have angered the guy because he took it to PMs. This is the fun I got, and I’m always up for an argument.

Him: not at all ha ha… its funny when people talk crap then ignore you haha, its always about getting the last word in i guess right? thats always mature

(because insulting your healers is mature)

Then I told him if I wanted to shit talk I’d be more than happy to do it directly, and said I healed my ass off at Slags but we killed no one. Then I got

Him: well then I apologize cause I want at slags

me: no worries

him: thats all you had to say you didnt have to be so defensive XD

Uh huh. See the aforementioned “if there is a healer in raid and I’m not getting heals they must be bad” comment. WE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE NEAR YOU.

Improved stats on pvp gear

To add to the previous post, whatever they did to my skills and the pvp gear has opened up the ability to use one disc spec for pvp and pve. I have enough haste even in pvp gear to use greater healer and prayer of healing again. So very happy! It might not be viable in arena or anything, but 2.2 cast is much improved over 2.9 for greater heal.

Spent last night pvping in my good old disc spec as I lose it today. I mean, the spec is still there, but will be pretty much completely changed. I hit divine hymn and mana burn, as much as possible.
