Ugh my luck

Did a pug DS tonight. We wiped once on Zon’ozz because the priest and pally healers were bad, only doing 10k each and everyone died clearly to low heals. I mean people were sitting around at 50% health for ages. They made the shaman heal then we got it.

We brought a rogue named Smokebomb who was in full cata pvp gear, NO glyphs, missing 8 gems, and doing 7k dps. I’m not kidding. 7k dps on Zon’ozz. They kicked him at Yor’sahj, thank goodness.

I won Infinite Loop, replacing my LFR version of it. We did up to Hagara then everyone left.

Heroic Hagara

We got Heroic Hagara down after a little over an hour of wiping on her. The mage, Powertrip, seemed to die to ice waves constantly. Angiecakes and I generally kept up a running discussing of the progress and generally agreed it was annoying to have someone doing raids who never does prep work on their gear through VP cap. The mage was only 383 ilevel and didn’t even have the 397 boots, and did pretty poor dps. He of course won the heroic Lightning Rod.

Anyway we’re 5/8 now and hopefully working on ones I have not done next week. Not looking forward to spine at all.

The warlock Perfide who was horde, switched to Alliance and joined Post Mortem with that char. As far as I know the warrior he joined Relentless with when I was still there is still around. He sounds a lot like the guy from the Onyxia Wipe Animation I found out. Very take-charge in bgs too. I agreed to do arena with him but if it gets “Rayslayz” type pushy and demanding it won’t last long. He also said that Ladiesman was “bad” and that he always killed him in duels. There was much talk of people I thought were good being bad that night though. Maybe he wasn’t good against warlocks I don’t know, but I never thought he was bad.

Then again hardly anyone who gets thrashed ever says “wow that guy was GOOD”

OMG HELP

Last night we attempted heroics in Post Mortem.  We got Morchok like usual, and did fine with Yor’sahj though I am pretty sure when the shaman kept putting down healing rain, even prior to the debuff slime being absorbed, it still gave everyone 1 stack of the debuff.  Someone told me it does only one but giving everyone 1 stack when they didn’t want it can be an issue.  We got it down even with that so I guess it was ok.

We did heroic Zon’ozz though on our successful attempt I lost the mage when I lost which way they were running. I know they were supposed to go to the right but they moved much farther out of my range than I was use to. I got Heroic Finger of Zon’ozz during that.

Heroic Hagara was another story.  We did progress,  but there were several flaws that caused it to fail.  First, this is clearly a problem.

Things I saw as going wrong:

1) the druid healer was told to stack in the middle during frost phase, but instead was running around in tree form in Watery Entrenchment until he died.

2)  Either someone was dispelling the Frostflake on demand, or the dps were calling out for dispels when they didn’t actually dip in the bubble.  I think it was a bit of both.

3) People weren’t actually dipping in and out of the bubble quickly, I saw the hunter run halfway to the middle of the entrenchment at least once.  We said “run to the middle” but I personally specified it meant “dip in and out” not literally the middle.

4) the druid never popped tranq during the lightning phase, my divine hymn kept people alive but barely clinging to life by the time the phase ended.

So needless to say we didn’t get that one down. Hoping to get it tonight.  Makes me miss my A9N team even more; it took us maybe 2 attempts to get it down.

And while I’m on the topic of groups, this is probably my favorite healer picture, of all time:

omghelp

This is a picture from Lineage 2, in Cruma tower.  First a little bit of a set up.  Back when this was drawn, you often brought both a buffer who could also heal, and a main healer to parties, which were 9 man groups if you had a full group.   At level 41 players had just class changed into healer or buffer, but they could still do both.

Anyway in this picture the most important mob to kill right away were the Snipes and the Snipe Cohorts.  They were random spawns that would show up anywhere in the room you were in and you’d need to immediately switch to them or suffer a wipe.

This picture show the tank yelling 99999! which meant he was likely, non-English (that was the way they said help, don’t ask me!) surrounded by a Snipe and Cohorts, a Krator (melee), and Ricenseo (nuker).  He is almost dead.

The “idiot” melee players are working on a Mordeo, which is not a priority like the Snipes.  Another idiot is picking up gold (items dropped on the ground and you had to pick them up) rather than helping anyone.  The archer player is screaming help when he was too far away from the tank and pulled the additional Excuro mobs the group did not need.  He is also almost dead.

The one healer will full mana said “brb”  DURING this mess and clearly did not help heal.  The player in the foreground is making the angry face with a fist because they are OOM from having to use battle heal (flash heal) and his/her group are all terrible.

Fratricide

Well it seems Fratricide is taking over the spot of Ladiesman, at least for now.  Had Iocane and Annebelle  in WG one run and he showed up, and he requested I let him kill Iocane.  I said I couldn’t very well do that!  She was unable to kill him though and I don’t think he died until another DK joined in.  He almost got me once and I was tempted to port in the fort, but got off a fear and healed up again. But yeah, new horde friend in pvp.

There was much speculation in guild and raid during and after that battle, about how he moved so fast, hit so hard, so hard to kill.  I’ve seen pallies bounce around like they some how stole Killing Spree before in WG but I think it’s lag related.  He also has the heroic 2 hander from Spine and full cata pvp gear so that’s really all it was.  He keeps telling me I should faction change.

And to be clear, this is in no way a replacement for my rogues 😛

Randoms are rough

Randoms have been rough on my mage lately. Did two tonight and both went poorly.

First up was in progress End Time, my favorite. We’re on Baine, I run to the platform and 2 people die on the way there. Rez up, pull the boss, healer lets the tank die at around 15%, I drop mirrors and go to town, we get it down. Apparently they had wiped on that a few times. Someone asks “how did we not wipe on that?” and another replies “stellar dps”. I was doing 40% of it.

Anyway it’s off to Murazond and the druid healer says to port out and back in to avoid the Baine trash on the way out. We’re there a while, CC the trash, and the healer still isn’t there. The tank pulls anyway, I say “healer is not here yet” and port out to avoid a wipe. We come back in, they rez up, healer lets the tank drop again. I finish off one of the mobs stunning it with my fire stuff and inviz on the last guy up. I mass rez, we kick the healer because they are bad. A new druid healer comes in, missing glyphs, gems, reforging, leather items, the works. I sigh and say, let’s just do it ok? We get it down ok.

Then my next one we get HoT and another druid healer, in TERRIBLE gear (several items under 333) lets the tank die, leaves. We get a paladin, get the boss down, PALADIN leaves. Finish the rest with another paladin. I’m pulling aggro CONSTANTLY, the tank is from my server but missing 5+ glyphs, enchants, etc. Well, whatever. We got it finished. So much for capping vp on my mage, it’s too frustrating.
