Pants on the Head

This pally I met on my mage, yeah, think I’m gonna remove them from friends. I joked with Jan and told him I had no idea what I was thinking, and today I feel like I woke up with a a hang-over with my pants on my head wondering what I did the night prior.

I ran some dungeons with Lila last night on my priest to get cap in case we don’t raid today, and the guy kept asking for a run over and over. I told him I was heals, and we cannot 2 heal a 5 man. I asked if he wanted to go as dps? We ran most of the next dungeon before I got a reply, since I queued only after waiting about 2 mins for an answer (I’m antsy what can I say). We picked him up for the next one and got HoT which he again said he didn’t like.

Between what he said he does for work and his age (over 20), I figured I’d get a little more maturity but if I didn’t know any better I’d have guessed I was talking to a 13-17 year old. The run itself went fine but then we had a really maddening conversation after when he asked for trinket advice. He’s in mostly all 378 gear, so I asked if he has been raiding yet, no. I told him in my opinion to run WoE and get Foul Gift of the Demon Lord, then go to the old JP vendor and pick up Core of Ripeness if money was a problem. Then when raiding cross fingers and hope to get Heart of Unliving, and then in the second slot use Windward Heart or Seal of the Seven Signs. I told him another choice would be to buy DMC Tsunami rather than Core.

At that point I got a lot of “no one sells that trinket” I said it’s the old JP gear vendor. “I don’t see that”. I said it’s to the side of the other vendors. “I don’t see it, it’s not here”. YES IT IS, and I told him the vendor name. Then I got “rare spawn npc”. I was like what? He’s in the SAME ROOM as the JP and VP vendor. “Naw man it’s rare spawn and not here”. WTH?

Then he said he was going to get that awful Reflections trinket with spirit and on use SP. That trinket is horrible for almost all the healers if not ALL the healers. (possibly good for holy priest I dunno, but still probably no). I told him it was garbage and bad and he started to argue to the point that I was like “look I’m 404 ilevel, and I raid heroics on 2 characters and have 3 healers, I read up on healing all the time, trust me it’s bad”.

He came back with “I have a 415 healer who said it’s great” and I was like “fine don’t listen to me” and logged. Ugh.

Inconsiderate Idiot Type

So, I think my new pally healer friend is either an inconsiderate idiot type or just that age that screams “inconsiderate idiot type”. I logged on and he invited me to a group, I said I want to queue for a dungeon (since I’m working on Wildhammer rep) and we just sat there in group for a while doing nothing. I left party and said look I’m gonna queue and queued up. He invited me again and said he was just getting some noggenfogger elixir or whatever it’s called.

This is stuff I hate like a cat hates baths. I do not want to WAIT to queue. I want to queue RIGHT NOW, especially as dps. Sure having a healer with you is instant queue but if I have to wait 5-10 minutes for a healer to be ready, I may as well have sat in a queue during that time. Maybe that’s bratty of me but I really do hate waiting on other people for things I can do myself.

At any rate we queued up and he said he wanted to leave at the first boss Arcurion in Hour of Twilight because he hates this dungeon. I said it made no difference to me, but it was pretty easy to heal.

We got the first boss down and the tank left, then he was like “I gtg” and left, leaving me with another 8 minute queue wait. If there is much more “Soulprince” behavior I’m out of this real id thing. I’m also being called a “bro or gal” even though my name is clearly female in real id /shrug. lol

Subzero, sometimes I make poor decisions

End Time Baine: Tank stays in the lava and dies at about 15% left to go, I inviz to drop aggro, the other dps die, pop mirrors, hero, just me and that healer, combustion, I die, Baine dies. Pally is the only one alive. We sort of chuckle over that, since at the start of that area, I died because I didn’t hit inviz in time, and the tank told me that’s “not how inviz works”. Um ok? It drops aggro, duh.

Next up, Jaina. Pally’s name is Subzeropanda from Garona btw. We died to trash there, oh gosh like 3x. The tank pulled too much or something I forget, then another time pulled when the healer wasn’t there, then pulled when the healer was just rezzed and wasn’t prepared. I must have used ice block/mirrors/inviz at lesat 5x. Anyway Jaina, seemed like an excessive amount of flare cores were coming out, every 5 seconds it seemed. Tank ends up kiting her into the trash we should have but didn’t clear, most of the party dies, the pally and I survive. I laugh and say we should exchange phone numbers or something, like victims of a terrible accident.

Murazond went ok. We then ran WoE together and I ended up with a real id friend.

I am trying to bang out Wildhammer rep since my ret pally needs the head enchant, and she was the furthest along in that area. I also got in an in progress WoE where I phased into a dead party at the first boss and died right away. Why oh WHY can you phase in like that? Then I died again when one of the demon mobs didn’t despawn and was right on the boss, and the tank (mostly Brazil group) just ran right into it killing us all again. I told the priest on my healers if I see more than 2 Brazil servers I’ll just auto desert. They agreed, but the tank ended up getting kicked, the other 2 left, we requeued and got it down. I said this once before but gosh it seems my dps groups are often much harder than my heals. This may be because all a dps can really do wrong is go afk, do bad dps, or maybe pull too much, but that isn’t too common because that just gets YOU killed. A bad tank, bad healer.. that goes bad for all.

Last night I went with Jan to do some regular bgs, including Wrathofgød who is 2200 rated and apparently rather famous from Arena Junkies.

We won 4 or 5 I think and lost one WSG.  But that just proves that even 5/10 people being good can’t be doing everything.  We had a mage repeatedly get the flag and lose it 2 seconds later, no one after the EFC, etc. Still it was fun to not play with a bunch of bads sometimes.
