RBGs

Did not get the Love Rocket on any of my 3 chars this year. Siiigh.

Got picked up for RBGs last night by Ilikeanimals and per typical groups, it took about an hour to get going and we lost very badly on AB. It took forever to reform, this time Ilike left and Yoshimara took over leading.  We went on to win like, 5 in a row before we quit around midnight. I went from 0 rating since I hadn’t done any yet this season to 1150.  I’d like to hit 1700 since my last highest was 1600.  That of course got me cap, which is nice because I was wondering who the hell I was gonna cap with this week.

Get out and Push Healing

Raided FL on my shaman and we two healed up to Rag, but Lila brought along a dps doing 10k in 346 ilevel range, so 2 healing Rag was out of the question and we didn’t even bother. We also had another person doing around 12k so, yeah. I won Jaws of Defeat which brings this char up to the priests level of trinket choices, plus Heart of Unliving.

We did DS the next day and got up to Spine but ran out of time for more attempts. I think we could have gotten it though. I sort of wish we weren’t wasting time in FL over one persons staff. It seems silly to waste the time of 9 other people for an entire night of raiding. to get that one person a weapon.

There was nothing I wanted that dropped on all those bosses. But I am closely approaching 397 ilevel which will be as good as it’s gonna get without heroics.

I change Ocyla’s pve spec to include smite healing since I am no longer raiding and I rather enjoy the “get out and push” dps bonus I bring to parties that aren’t that good. Plus, unlike many atonement spec priests I’ve seen, I can totally NOT atonement heal, or use atonement very little and still bring out respectable numbers. I like it for a more casual play style and gives me something to do when dps is slow and there’s not much else to do.

Thrashing bad Hunters

Ran into Ultrabomber out in Goldshire where Horde had been showing up, and thrashed him in a duel.

I asked him if he wanted to do bgs which I had been doing that night and he said something sarcastic about having my partner 10 feet away and not wanting to do arena. I said I ‘wasn’t feeling it’ and he logged.

Alliance has been quite good at bgs still, though I am repeatedly left alone at “boring” bases like Stables, Lighthouse, or Draenei Ruins. However more often than not, a rogue stays with me.

Ran EotS and we did so well I got the Bound for Glory achievement.

We’ve been doing well at TB also, though this one I just had to laugh when 2 DK’s simultaneously popped army.

I capped with Maice since I’m cross with Ultra, and Ladiesman hasn’t been around.  We lost like 4 and won 4 I think, but he just needs his resil up.  Ultra was at like 2k resil for a while and got torn to pieces as well.  I know some people run in full pve gear but that doesn’t seem to work so well right now.

Ran BH and finally won something on this char with a roll of 93, the haste pvp necklace, but I gave it to Cassio who was in the same group.  The reason being is, I need at least one item to have spell pen, and I already upgraded my cloak, so it must be the neck.  Even if I kept the neck, I’d need to replace my healing cape with a spell pen one, and it would be an equal loss in CP, so just silly to keep. Besides, he never wins anything in there.

Nicholopolis mentioned that I broke the “golden rule” or loot which is never, ever give it away.  I sort of disagree, I do this a lot and it’s come back to me many times. I give away red cut gems, flasks, I actually pass on loot in LFR I don’t need, and I’ve given away loot a number of times in BH or raids.  I don’t believe in game karma, or anything, but I did have that random pally give me the healing mace from Madness plus a tier token, I’ve had another shaman let me have tier pants, and another person let my mage have some pvp piece.  Maybe none of this would have ever happened but I don’t have to play like a dick, angry that it might not.

I then went on to run BH on the shaman, and again rolled a 93 which won the spell pen neck, only, I forgot I already had it, so traded it to Libem, the second highest roller, who fortunately is actually a pvper.

Wings!

The Alliance bgs have continued to be fun to play and I’ve won most every game I’ve queued for lately.  My shaman got CP cap and my priest, I still don’t know how I’m going to hit it.

Ran LFR on my shaman and unbelievably won Heart of the Unliving, the stacking spirit trinket, which is funny because I JUST bought the spirit trinket from the VP vendor.  Oh well I have a few other trinkets I can use if needed.

I like the change to atonement on my priest, and I look AWESOME with wings.

I can keep up healing quite high as well, assuming I don’t do like some atonement priests and make atonement most of my healing.

Jugger Not

Had some epic bgs lately, got “Newbs to Plowshares” on my shaman during a Gilneas battle where we 3 capped, and kept 8/10 of their team off the LH flag the ENTIRE TIME. People knew how to aoe the flag, it was beautiful.

Also on my priest got “Jugger Not” after being down about 1200 points also in Gilneas, and came back to win it. I professed undying love to a rogue who solo capped WW to get us that win. I do find that I do the majority of the calling out in battlegrounds lately though. I use BG defender which saves typing time but that doesn’t work when I’m not at the base in question. I make frequent use of Mind Vision to latch onto people on my team to check out the other bases, then call out how many are there. A lot of people will yell “LH LH LH LH” and I mind vision only to see it’s 2 inc and we have 4 there. You should not need to call that out. Numbers are important to know. 2 defending and 5 inc, yes call that out, 1 inc vs 5 defending, don’t bother.
