Alliance Vanguard

I moved to Bleeding Hollow and joined Alliance Vanguard.  I think I said that.  Anyway, I’m not quite sure if it’s working out for me.

First issue was when I mentioned in guild chat that I waited 12 mins to get into a losing bg with 2 minutes left.  A rogue told me his queues were 2 minutes and 12 minutes don’t happen.  I said “good for you, I said mine were 12”.  He said that comment meant I was in ‘grade school’ and I said well you were basically calling me a liar.  Then I got called dumb for preferring to BL SoTA over AV.  I replied “oh well if you are joining me in grade school I guess we can be besties”.

Then I joined battlegrounds with Razorbackx and Lothabrimbor.  Loth rage quit about 1 minute into a Gilneas because we were facing a much better team. Will never, ever party with again.  I will not tolerate that.

In other news I finally killed Sinestra going after some achievements.

Also picked up the Shado Pan cats

And this resto druid and I just came to an agreement that we couldn’t kill each other.

Arena Hot Streak

I did 2’s with Deacon, the warrior who sorta recruited me over to Bleeding Hollow on my druid, into the Alliance Vanguard guild.  They were the ones who had a few people come to our Stormpike Militia games.  Which… huh.  Don’t know if I explained that here. So first of all, got the Hot Streak achievement.

As for the SM thing, it started out when regular form-goers wanted to play together, and managed by Smellybeard, a dwarf shaman, we did wargames together for a few months.  When that went under because of drama from a few people, Mizriz and Barrym took over in the fight against Hydra, to do premades in AV.  We started calling ourselves the Forum Militia, but since everyone didn’t haunt the forums, we went with Stormpike Militia (SM).  When we had even numbers, we stomped Hydra with DAS BOOT, which I streamed for posterity. That’s where we’re at now, doing premade AV mostly trying to ferret out Hydra, but since they specifically said they wouldn’t queue on the days WE queue, it’s been harder to run into them.

However one night we SURPRISE-QUEUED into them on a Monday, and gave them a stomping. Boosh. Anyway.

So back to arena, got 10 or 11 wins in a row with Deacon, then got exploded by a hunter/boomie team and went to play AV.  Not because of the loss, mind you, but I had to do some thinking about my play.

And bless the chat in Ashran.

I’ve become a rager

I’m afraid battlegrounds have been so bad I’ve become a rager.

No carts capped in SSM, and we’re being GY camped.  Rage quit.

Horde gets 4 bases at the start of AB and I’m the only one that came back to Stables? Rage quit.

Horde has 6 people on D with the EFC and only 2 of us on O, and our FC still dies? Rage quit.

Watch all three carts end up red the entire trip in SSM? Yep.  I’m out.

Fingernails on a chalkboard

I’d like to think, that other than ranting and raving here, I’m pretty calm in game.  I don’t throw things or scream or whatever.  But man.  When someone pulls an Ironclaw/Cinor/Frostrated I see red so fast my head spins.

Someone named Danish in my new guild was forming a group for Ashran, I left mine and joined them.  Only… one person was doing arena.  One was in a bg.  Uh, looks like we’re not ready.

He says to queue as merc, so I do.  None of the party is in there, and about 60 seconds later Danish decides to leave and starts forming up for battlegrounds.

Red.  RED.

I’ll run losing bgs/pvp with people for a decent amount of time, but holy fuck if you rage quit on me, we’re going to have problems.

I’m all over the place

Moved my druid, again.  I’m now on Bleeding Hollow and about to join Alliance Vanguard, which came from our nights with running with them as Stormpike Militia.

So, bye Whisperwind, at least for this druid.

Stormpike Militia came about after Hydra was using full premades to stomp Alliance in AV.  That alone wasn’t too bad but they would push ally to one GY and just AOE farm them, laugh and such, count how many rage-quits they caused, and post about how much they were tromping RANDOM PUGS constantly.  They would also use things like Mind Control to throw people out of the portal, causing the deserter debuff entirely against the other players will.

Now that last thing actually got the portal fixed so you CAN’T DO THAT any more.

They also caused a lot of shenanigans in Ashran by gaming the ‘loser buff’ by pushing it to high levels, intentionally losing events, and using it to crush the other team, who often had absolutely no chance to win.  There’s not much you can do with a team with something like 250% damage and healing, on top of that, being in an organized group on voice-comm, and generally also with Artifact.

There was also the little problem of pre-mades being disabled in 6.2, but Hydra and others using various methods to get 40 people into the desired Ashran instance anyway.  They liked to say it was by design but if that were so, it would have worked like in 6.1.  By design is not “join group, join queue, queue pop, leave group, take pop”.  Fuck off if you think it is, because STUPID.

But yeah.  Currently I have a rogue on Ghostlands, thanks to Kuraha, a monk on Thunderhorn thanks to DogsofWar, mage gnome and paladin on Sargeras because frankly I found Sargeras people to be more cool than.. other servers?  Hunter on Mal’ganis because of Barnowl, and all the rest still on Whisperwind because of Stoutspectre all those years ago.
