Fun with Alliance

Phased into a Tol Barad battle with 5 alliance staring me in the face. Warrior, mage, holy priest, paladin of some sort, rogue. KILLED.  THEM. ALL.  Couldn’t screenshot everything because it lags me, but got close.

Holy Priest

Didn’t get the warrior screenshot,  but killed him at least 3x, got the priest 2x (then she started running) and the paladin 1x, and mage 2x.  Lost, but it was worth it!

Hunter is a good dps choice for a healer

I say this because, more often than not, the healer is the one left guarding a base.  I know I do it all the time, and in a DWG today a holy priest was left solo at a base.  I ran in and helped knowing how much that sucks.

Most of the time, the healer then goes and runs off, can’t really blame them.  When I’m healing I tend to stay around, because chances are, such as in that DWG, shortly after 4 Alliance ran in and even though I called it out, we lost it.

So anyway, people are unnecessarily rude in bgs sometimes.  They were saying that to me when I was asking about defense.

We won this Gilneas, but it was frankly a mess.  We had three bases, I figured a quick win.  We lost one, then lost another.  Bases we had were often deserted and I’d look at the map and see no one at any bases.  I like my wins, but solid wins can turn into a loss with crap like that.

The best part was when I asked why no one stayed to defend WW I got “why didn’t you shut up and do it”.  Yeah, I had been defending mines, I only moved there when I died to 5+ alliance.  YOU’RE WELCOME

People that play certain classes

Stout mentioned this the other day, and it seems like certain people gravitate to certain classes.  I don’t know what it is exactly.  Here are my experiences over the time I’ve been playing, both in Lineage 2 and in Warcraft.   I don’t have opinions on all classes either, some are just neutral.

And this is assuming what I call a persons “core” class.  A ‘rogue’ can play a mage, and still be a rogue.

Hunters – Usually played by stupid people and/or those who are self centered and greedy.

Examples: Headsmasher and L2guru in Lineage 2.  Shottie in Relentless.  Or any low level playing one.

Rogues – Almost entirely played by people with a sharp wit, playful way of talking/playing who I almost across the board find agreeable.

Examples:  Rayzo, Stouspectre, Ladiesman, Arashikage, Antsy, Misery, Iocane,  etc.

Mages – Either elitist douchbags, or god awful players who are also douchbags.  Always completely unpleasant.

Examples:  Brdlady, Arkwin, Powertrip,  Magicizan, etc

Warriors – Usually played by teens who haven’t quite gotten enough sense to behave properly or not ask for inconvenient or downright ridiculous favors.

Examples:  Cinor, Drekk, Warbomb

Paladins – Usually the leaders of a raid, a group and usually a tank.  May or may not be calm, but runs the show.

Examples: Peejay, Nilvana, Leonz, Conquix.

Death Knights – Usually people who like to play a class that takes 20 people to kill, whether or not they can actually play it well, or even kill anyone.

Examples:  Annibelle, Oromis, Zukk.

Priests –  The Dark Knights, fiercely loyal to friends, but an absolute hellion against the wicked, the stupid, or the trolls.

Examples: Myself, Lindenroyce

That’s all I have for now.

Tips for World PvP

As I was heading out to defend Thrallmar from some 90 DK killing guards, I noticed I instantly do some things no matter where I go.  Here are a few of them.

Currently, people in PVE gear, even LFR gear, have it better than people in full grievous.  Have a look at my un-upgraded LFR gloves. 528 ilevel.  My Grievous are 522.  You can’t upgrade them.  Upgraded LFR is 536.  You can imagine what flex and better looks like.

1) Put on your best PVE gear, minus an escape trinket and maybe  a pvp weapon. Trust me. My HP for example is 440k in pvp gear, in pve it’s 510k and I’m only in LFR stuff. Full normal I’d be hitting 700k.

2)  Be wary of anyone else who might have a Hardened Shell.  If you FP somewhere, land and fly up, QUICK, preferably skimming towers on the way up in case you do get hit.  Don’t want to fall a great distance on your way up if they DO get you.  Once up, avoid those areas.      Look around later at a safe distance from walls, ledges, buildings, towers.

3)  If you have to afk in the air, do it HIGH.  Zealous assholes (like myself) who can do damage while falling, levitating, slowfalling, or glider-ing, can and will burst you in the air and drop you.  That’s embarrassing, try to avoid it.  If you are high enough, by the time they hit the ground, and come back up, chances you’ve self healed enough.

4) Use the terrain.  Land on a tower, a roof, if you can knock them off, do so.  Also prevents rogues from stealthing up. If ranged, shoot down from somewhere high, a lot of times DK’s can’t get LoS on you.

5)  Use OP npcs!  The NPCs in Thrallmar for instance, had a stun that has NO DR.  You can get stunned over and over the same time repeatedly.  This is NOT fun for the Alliance.  The NPCs in Honor Hold knock you back sometimes but I don’t find it as annoying when I’m Horde. Some will even dismount the enemy for you.
