A lot of times in randoms if I see someone doing terrible dps I’ll pull up their armory and see what’s up. I can kind of see not enchanting gear when you know you will replace it soon (outside of raiding). I don’t understand leaving gem sockets bare, when the crap gems are better than nothing and cost like 5g each. Today I inspected a ret pally with NO GLYPHS, besides the usual no enchants and no gems. Not a single one. How the hell do you get up to level 85 and not bother looking up, AT SOME POINT, what glyphs to use?

Frostrated
Did BH on my shaman, since every 25 man has at LEAST 5 priests, and lost the roll on the HEALING pvp pants, to an ele shaman. Only they traded it to me after, so that was nice.
Got Frostrated to BLOCK me today, was pretty awesome. He, blocked ME. He started out saying he was going to enchant his stuff, just for me, then but started his usual rude, ignorant crap which drove me nuts. I made some stabbing remarks about enchanting my own new gear after he said no one would take him into a BH. Then we got in a stupid conversation about how his dps is awesome with the lack of enchants again, while he said that lfr is exactly, EXACTLY the same as DS10, how lfr is NOT totally faceroll, etc etc. Then everything he said ended with a “derp” saying he could outdps me, out heal me on his 48 shaman, derp this and derp that and I’m derp derp derp.
I personally would have kicked him right then but he said he blocked me, then continued to throw insults. So whatever.
But then Beezle came on and started talking about raiding again, Frost rudely said something about “not taking my spot”, and when I commented about Beezle being top dps back in the day in ICC, Frost called him “garbage”. (without seeing my comments because I was blocked) So I’m pretty sure he won’t be with us much longer.
Nah don’t need enchants
I don’t generally inspect guild members when I raid on my shaman unless they seem to be struggling, and I’ve mostly left it to Jynx to monitor how the dps is going while I watch the healing charts.
But for some reason two dps were talking about how they don’t bother with enchants while raiding so I went and looked up Frostrated and Scubasam. Both were missing 5 enchants, Frost was also missing 2 major glyphs and in 377 pvp blues. Whether that was a pvp set or not, I don’t know, but both openly agreed they felt enchants were a waste of their time and money and they dps’d just as good as people with enchants. To make a long stupid story short, I said ok well if you think losing roughly 200-300+ in important stats to be a waste of time, next raid I’m going to heal with no pants on. Raiding is for at the least semi serious people, if you wanna half ass it, stick to dungeons. I let them know in no uncertain terms I’d check them before next raid. Dps aren’t hard to replace, yo.
One of them also told me if it bothered me “so much” I should just buy them some enchants. I said, not a chance in hell.
We were supposed to do Rag tonight but at 8:30 only about 4 people were on. The new pally we invited has accepted 2 invites and not showed to either so far. Then Frost was on an alt and said that, he was GONNA raid, but decided nah, he’d rather level an alt. I asked so, you are online, accepted a raid, but want to do an alt instead? This was prior to us calling it because of all the no shows. He said yes, then went on to tell me to not worry about him and to mind my own business and stop checking his gear. I called him the stupidest person I’ve met and blocked him.
Picked up Alexmx for arena on my priest, but went on to lose something like 6 in a row, one from a disconnect I had at the start of the first battle, the rest because I was ripped apart even through pain supp, fearing, and desp prayer. After that we went on to get cap and I got my new weapon. We’re just under 1600 at this point. I miss the escape abilities of my shaman, and the lack of interupts.
Bad healers
I think I’ll make this thread about my healers, since I have three now.
We’ve had to pug healers in our last few raids and the selection of puggable healers has been pretty poor. We did regular Firelands with a shaman healer, who of course won the BOE sword, who seemed to be just randomly pushing cool down skills for no particular reason at random times. Spirit link totem seemed to be dropped on CD, chain heal was cast when only one person was damaged, water shield wasn’t kept up half of the time, etc etc. During Beth they also said they would go up with the tank then did not, so he died, the second time they went up but they both died from lack of heals anyway. I went up for my first time a few days ago and no one died so, it’s not hard. I did win Eye of Blazing Power though which I replaced Foul Gift of the Demon Lord with. The mastery is nice but eh gonna try it like this.
The disciple priest that apparently has been a normal member of the team with Relentless, I’ve had to work with to get their healing up. Their spec was a bizzare mix of the smite healing but with no archangel, had no points in Twin Discipline, no Desperate Prayer, or Inspiration. Got them to put points in Twin Disc but they chose to get darkness instead of desp prayer/insp which is still ok. I personally consider at least Desp prayer a must. We also had to work on rotation since they were doing mostly flash healing, and how to use mass dispel on the ping-pong boss since they were often doing 0% of the dispels. We finally did get that boss mostly because they started mass dispelling, at least to me that made the huge difference.
Anyway last night we picked up this fool, a holy priest, who was using a pvp trinket (the insignia of the alliance variety), and three pieces of pvp gear. That in itself should have been a clue about their skill but they probably could have still done ok.
However, they were apparently playing it like a disc priest. A bad one. Trash was healed with nothing but Greater Heal and Divine Hymn, mending was rarely used, circle of healing was not used at all, lightwell was almost never put down, renew was never used, and they had no idea what I was talking about when I told them to put down Sanctuary, which was also never used. When I pm’d them about it asking for the “aoe floor heal” they replied “I’m using prayer of healing then divine hymn”. Uh, ok. I also never saw HW serenity going off which probably means they were in Santuary chakra but not making use of circle of healing or HW sanctuary, and of course were not using renew.
We got Hagara anyway but not Ultraxion thanks to people constantly failing on pushing the button. The paladin and I could have easily two healed it so it’s a shame we couldn’t have replaced the priest with another dps, and we probably would have gotten it the one time we got it to about 3 mill hp.
Pretend it’s PVE
Saw a mage doing nothing but spamming arcane explosion, as a frost mage, in TP today. When I called them bad they said to lay off because they were new to pvp. Ok so that means you play stupid as hell? I mean at least pretend you are on a mob, at LEAST.
