Like running around with your mouth open…

I got my monk to 25 today, and I went Mistweaver.  At 25 I still only have 1 heals, Soothing Mist and Enveloping something or other.  The first one is channeled, and leaves an obnoxious trail of green to your target, showing everyone exactly where you are.  The second is instant, only if you are already channeling, otherwise it’s a cast time.

Where’s the healer? OH THERE.

First of all, I’ve leveled two healing priests, a druid healer, a paladin heals, and a shaman healer.  None have felt so gimped in the healing department to that point.   I was rocking with a single heal when a priest was coming at me with pw shield on, penance, flash heal, smite, and throwing sw pain on me.

Monks get a 50% exp bonus if they transfer using a skill on a 1 hour CD, to Kun Lai Summit and fight this panda.  Over and over.  Each time.

My only defense at this point if I remember right, is my roll.  I’m in full BoAs and rogues still one shot Ambush me.

After doing a bunch of bgs with this fun (if I were new I’d have quit by now!) I got frustrated and made the following comment in regards to constantly channeling a heal to get anything done (lol spell lock out!):

It’s like running around with your mouth open in a sea of dicks.

Vulgar I know.  I was pissed.  HI SPELL LOCK OUT LOOKEE ME IMMA CHANNELING.

Low Level PvP

I know low level pvp isn’t balanced, but to the extent that it’s not balanced seems really wacked.  I got a MW monk to 14 today and I have a single heal; Soothing Mist.  It’s channeled, can’t move with it either, and hardly heals through any damage from say, a rogue.  I have this one channeled heal right, then I see a disc priest roll up in a shield, with penance, flash heal, and smite.  Ok?  One heal.  Seems legit.  I don’t know if I’d keep playing if I was new dealing with that.  I died to the same rogue like 5x in a row just trying to go from the Farm GY to Farm.  FUN.

I had a similar problem with 2-3 rogues in a WSG, where I kept getting murked (merked? mirked? whatever) before I even hit mid.  After about 8 deaths that way, and it was clear we were losing (their team had all level 14s and we did not) I said fuck it.  Then a warrior on our team laid all the blame on me not rezzing.  LOL sure.

It feels like questing is slow as well.  Both on my warrior and the monk, you do 5 quests and still haven’t gained a level.  You can’t do dungeons yet, and travel is a PITA because you have to find all flight points.  The “Call to Arms” might be in Stranglethorn, yeah GL getting down there is under 2 hours if you don’t know what you’re doing.  I’m serious.  Last time I tried it, I had a hell of a time.   Maybe they did it to make boosted 90 seem like a great idea.

Shifting Blame

I don’t lose many bgs as Horde, but when I do, someone blames others.

First off, sometimes Horde wins are really strange.  We can be playing technically pretty awful, but still win.  Take this Twin Peaks for instance.  How did we do that? I don’t even know! Look at the damage!

NOTHING WAS DYING! But we won!

But alas tonight I queued into an existing loss where ally had one flag cap already.   A paladin with around 483k health gets the flag and I start shadowing them on my hunter.  I get sapped, they keep running.  The rogue opens on them and takes them down to 40% health in no time flat.  I get out of the sap and peel them off, throwing a flare at the rogue as he vanishes.

The paladin crosses the river and gets sapped again.  A monk is constantly doing that spinning kick all around them.  I flare the area again.  3-4 more Alliance descend and wreck the paladin.  Then we got:  “Sapped twice, pop flares next time”.

Oh sure, that’ll help.  Because I can spam flares when I just used one. And sap itself isn’t that big of a deal.  Damage breaks it, sap itself does not damage.  Gosh.

Prideful, about time

Last week I got a Prideful ring and neck piece, and this week, gloves.  I also picked up the weapon.  I can safely say it’s worthwhile in wpvp FINALLY though.

I ran into this jerk, who at the time was rocking SoO heroic warforged raid gear.  I had to run, like druids do, but I 1) didn’t die and 2) didn’t get wtfpwned.  I think I’m good on saying when I have a full set, I don’t need to worry that much about raiders any more. At least not the ones relying mostly on their damn gear.

Yolo RBGs Have Been Terrible Lately

Now I understand why people were skeptical about me getting 1700 in what was essentially yolo’s.  Oh my gosh the groups have been terrible.  Like worse than random terrible.  I ran three on my druid last night and lost ALL THREE.  So, see this?

The other team was so bad that I was allowed to stand back here and heal so hard I went OOM and not get touched, but we still couldn’t hold a base.  I think my rating is something like 950, but only because of those 2 awesome wins the other day.  Otherwise it would be 50, or… 100.

I boosted my warrior to 90 and I’m trying out fury.  I guess arms is better but whatever, I want to learn fury.  Warriors are fun, and have so many skills; it’s kind of ridiculous.

I also want to go back to Dragon Soul to get the Deep Earth druid set, it’s pretty.
